Self Discovery

The story has an obvious theme of a young man that is looking over the country that he is living in but it has an unexpected effect on the young college graduate, Peter Jenkins. He actually finds out a lot about himself along the way. The author had grown up in a world that was very structured and had specific ideas for how a person lived. He had been so sheltered that he didn't truly understand how people outside his lifestyle lived.
