Book 5: Chapter 41 Summary

Ginny and Ty return home after the trial. She prepares dinner and thinks about Harold and Loren, who are moving into town (Harold's eyes still pain him, and he doesn't like being left alone). To Ginny, the sound of cooking food—the potatoes boiling and the pork chop juices sizzling—is oracular: she tells Ty she needs $1000, which he happens to have, not having yet banked the rent money from his tenant. He gives it to Ginny. She puts on her coat, grabs her car keys, and leaves.....
