Book 3: Chapter 24 Summary
Ginny feels unexpectedly uneasy around Ty, wondering what her father might have said about her, whether he knows or suspects Jess. Afterward, Ty and Pete leave and Rose comforts her daughters, who are sleeping upstairs. Ginny says she wants to throw up, and Rose says that she wishes she hadn't quit smoking. They plan to call the sheriff if Larry doesn't return by morning.
Rose asks Ginny if she remembers how Larry used to come after them, when they were themselves teenagers, how the Christmas after their mother died, he'd made them take separate bedrooms. Rose asks how can she not remember. Ginny doesn't remember but is afraid.
