Summary

Chapter 6 continues from Dr. Watson’s journal. Jefferson smiled and was kind toward Sherlock Holmes, Gregson, Lestrade, and Watson. Jefferson said that he hoped that he did not hurt any of them during their scuffle. He offered for them to use his cab to take him to the police station. He even offered to walk to the cab himself so that they would not have to carry his heavy body. Holmes trusted Jefferson and released his legs. Jefferson was calm and walked down to sit in his cab.

Lestrade drove Jefferson, Holmes, Watson, and himself to the police station. The official at the police station told Jefferson that he would have a trial within a week.
