Chapter 49, Jon Summary

Jon Snow is riding to Castle Black to warn them the wildings are coming to attack. He meets members of the Night's Watch, who thought Jon had become a wilding. Jon learns the wildings are attacking all along the Wall, and the Watch is holding them back. He is tended to by Maester Aemon, who tells him about the mutiny and the death of Mormont. Jon tells Aemon about what he saw with the wildings, and admits he slept with Ygritte, breaking his vows as a member of the Night's Watch. Aemon tells him about Rickon and Bran's deaths at Winterfell when it was attacked. Jon remembers the wolf he saw at Queenscrown, and wonder if Bran is alive in the wolf.
