Summary

In Chapter 13, Jill emerges from the dugout to see large-scale media coverage and a packed stadium. Marcus reminds her that it is “just another game” (82). Sawyer encourages Jill to complete a normal warm up, saying that they will refine it later. She throws some balls with Sawyer who reminds Jill to focus during the session. Sawyer asks Jill to throw a curve ball and quickly understands why that is what she is known for, but tells her to follow the plan because it is still “a process” (83). Jill gives her warm-up ball to a little girl. Marcus make her laugh by telling Jill that she is a “marketing department’s dream” (84).
