Summary

In Chapter 26, Alistair and Erec are on their journey to see Erec’s father. Alistair is apprehensive about leaving the Ring and meeting Erec’s people. She continues to worry about her premonitions that the Ring is in danger. The road forks. Erec and his men begin on the downward trail but Alistair says they will be killed if they go that way. Despite the objections by his men, Erec insists they take the longer trail that continues upwards and a few minutes later a rock slide buries the lower trail. All the men stop and stare in wonder at Alistair. She still doesn’t know how or why she has this power and there’s a side of her that wants to remain in the dark on these points.
