Miss Marple and Mrs. Harmon are guests at Little Paddock. This is the first time that Miss Marple meets Miss Blacklock. The ladies discuss the incident that had taken place. Miss Blacklock once again claims that there is nothing to burgle from her home. Miss Bunner mentions how Craddock focused on t he door that was supposedly never opened. She once again calls Miss Blacklock "Lotty". Miss Blacklock's anxiety becomes quite apparent. Miss Marple continues to inquire about the terrifying stand up as casual gossip. Mrs. Harmon and Miss Bunner quickly divulge as much as they can about the interesting story. discovers that Miss Blacklock did not know Patrick and Julia by sight prior to their arrival.
