Summary

In Chapter 13: One of the Populace. Sara was sent on an errand on a horrible winter day. Her tattered clothes were soaked. On top of it all, Miss Minchin chose to punish her by not letting her eat dinner. The next morning, Sara was also denied breakfast, but she found a fourpenny piece in the mud that had been there for some time. On her way into a bakery, she noticed a girl younger and in far worse shape than herself. She went into the bakery and asked the owner if she had lost a fourpenny piece. The woman told her no.
