Summary

Twenty-four-year-old Gautama was arrested for hiring a prostitute. He had moved to New York from India a year prior, to study his PhD in chemistry at NYU. He knew that one day he would have to get married and wanted to have as much sex as he could before this. He noticed that his favorite thing was negotiating the price with the prostitute rather than the sex itself as “having sex with a prostitute seemed so immoral that it was hard to enjoy it” (Location 1287).
