Summary

On June 23, the news breaks that the German forces have invaded Russia, which is the main talking point around Paris. That night, Mathieu and Joëlle have a rooftop picnic. Joëlle asks if Mathieu has in fact been a member of the Resistance, and pledges to help him if it is ever necessary.

The next day, Edouard meets with Mathieu and reports that Gerard and Jean-Luc have been killed, and it is now necessary for Mathieu to help shepherd in their two replacements as explosives technicians. That evening, Chantal meets Jules at Café Welcome to interview a potential new recruit -- who turns out to be Stefan Kusar. She takes his name -- which, he does give his real name -- and address at the end of their short conversation before leaving.
