Summary

In Chapter 40, Isabella and Julia tell Shayla they have heard people saying that Shayla and Tyler are a couple. That day, Tyler spends break with Shayla, Isabella, and Julia. He also walks with Shayla to P.E. Yolanda tells Shayla she does not understand how a boy could like a girl who is mean to him. Shayla wonders why Yolanda seems mad at her.

In Chapter 41, after Shayla’s English class, Isabella confronts Shayla about why she was avoiding Julia and Isabella during their winter break. Shayla tells Isabella that she was grounded. At lunch, Julia directs Tyler to the place where Shayla, Julia, and Isabella eat lunch. The boys laugh and punch at each other when they see Shayla and Tyler sitting next to each other.
