Chapter 15 Summary

Matty, Catherine, and Sophy are among the 12 girls that are in the funeral. Wearing bright white dresses adorned with flowers, they match the brightness of the day. As is customary, Mammann goes to the Shipman home to help Mrs. Shipman and the family. Aunt Lucy takes all of her beautiful city dresses and dies them the mourning color. Catherine reflects on her last moments spent with Cassie and is grateful for the joy that they shared despite the grief and sorrow that followed it.
