Chapter 10 Summary

As the children prepare for the end of the school year, Asa seeks Catherine's help with his verse to Sophy. The two finally agree on something for Sophy, and Asa hurries home. Joshua leaves a note attached to some forget-me-nots for his sentiments to stay with Catherine during the summer months while they are apart. On the last day of school, the weather is mild, and the children go home through the woods where Catherine ponders the phantom. Now that spring is here, Mr. Hall takes his and Mr. Shipman's wares to trade for cash for purchases they need to make in Boston. Catherine packs some food for his trip since he will be gone one week. The two girls stay on at the house by themselves with Mr. Shipman taking care of.....
