Summary

In Chapter 36, Matthew is hovering over Diana, refusing to let anyone else near. Marcus soothes Sarah, saying it is a vampire's protective instinct, and that Matthew would not even tolerate Marcus's interference at this point. Miriam says they have test results to share, and she scampers past Matthew to avoid bringing out his protective reaction while she is near. Matthew says the results are for a male. Miriam and Marcus reveal the facts, including that Diana is a chimera, having absorbed her twin brother, probably during the first trimester of Rebecca's pregnancy. Her twin brother was the one who actually had the power to time walk, but Diana absorbed his powers as well as her own. This is why the time walking power did not show up on Diana's DNA report, but was present in the tests on her hair samples. Marcus believes...
