Sherkaner Underhill

A Spider, Sherkaner Underhill is something of a dreamer and has many great ideas about research to be used by the military. It's Sherkaner's idea to have a small group come out of cold sleep early in order to attack their opposition's military center. Sherkaner is a free-thinker and doesn't believe that he should be confined by the dictates of society. He marries a young general named Victory Smith and the two have six out-of-phase children. Sherkaner cares deeply for the children and is furious with himself when the four older ones are kidnapped. Sherkaner is a dreamer and comes up with the idea that the Spiders can remain above ground during the Dark if they harness atomic power.
