Chapters 43-55 Summary

Chapter 43: Daenerys

Dany is awake and watches while Dario sleeps. Dario jokes that Dany should marry him instead of Hizdahr. Dany cannot do that.

Chapter 44: Jon

Queen Selyse arrives at Castle Black. Jon watches the arrival. He knows that the travelers that attend Selyse may travel with the Queen but in reality they serve Melisandre. Seleyse is surprised to find that Jon is now the Lord Commander. Selyse introduces her knights.

Tycho Nestoris, a representative of the Iron Bank visits Stannis. Tycho wants Stannis to collect on his behalf. Jon also approaches the Iron Bank for money.

Alys Karstark arrives at Jon's door with the news that her uncle, Arnolf, intends to betray Stannis. Alys tells Jon that he is her only hope for protection. Jon offers to write to Stannis but Alys says that Stannis will be dead before the message reaches him.
