Summary

In Chapter 73, Fayre and Amren pause when they are very near the Cauldron. They feel Nesta flexing her power to draw the King of Hybern to her and away from the Cauldron. The Weaver of the Wood is nearby. Fayre watches as the king walks right up to her and breaks her neck, killing her. Two beasts rip her body apart, eliminating any hope that she survived. Fayre hesitates, knowing that the king is now focused entirely on reaching Nesta. Amren instructs Fayre to hold onto the Cauldron. She does and immediately begins the struggle of keeping herself grounded. She expects Amren to begin reading from the Book of Breathings. Amren drops the book and Fayre knows Amren has deceived her.
