Summary

In Chapter 45, Rhysand points out his power and says he could have used mind control to force them all to do what he wants. Tarquin speaks up, asking why Rhysand helped when the Summer Court was being attacked. Rhysand responds by saying, “Isn't that what friends do?” (426). Tarquin considers for a moment, then says that he rescinds the blood rubies, which indicated a blood feud. His statement is a resounding message that he supports Rhysand in the coming war. Rhysand then says he believes Tamlin will fight against the King of Hybern. The conversation continues and Eris says Morrigan still dresses “like a slut” (427). Azriel is immediately fighting with Eris. Rhysand does not interfere. Fayre stands and quietly commands Azriel to stop. Fayre gets Azriel a glass of wine and announces that she will not stop the next fight that erupts...
