Summary

It is the summer of 1566. Ebrima and his partner Carlos are living the wealthy and happy dream. Together, they own the largest iron-making company in Antwerp and considered themselves as equals. Carlos was married to Imke with two small children, while Ebrima had married Evi and had a teenage stepson. He often thinks back to his village and knows he would be living an uneventful life in the village. He is sad that he cannot go back, but knows that he would never belong if he did.
