Summary

Chapter 21

Thor rides with members of The Legion to rebuild the village of Sulpa. His group grows nervous, but he reassures them that they are near and will arrive shortly. As they reach the village, a giant spider suddenly attacks Reece. Thor strikes it as it spits acid and wounds one of them. The giant spider, known as a forsyth, runs away. Reece has been bitten. Suddenly, several more forsyths come out of a cave and Thor orders his men to flee. The soldier who was wounded by the acid refuses to flee, however, and his horse is killed by the monsters. O'Connor kills a forsyth with an arrow as dozens more pour out of the nearby cave. The Legion flees and enters Sulpa. They are greeted by the village elders, who take Reece to their healer.
