Summary

Chapter 5

Kendrick is enjoying charging on his horse. He is eager to fight the McClouds. He seeks vengeance for the death of his king, and wants Gwendolyn to become the new ruler of the kingdom. King's Court is in ruin, but when he and his comrades enter, they find no enemies there, and the people have been slaughtered. He realizes they have fallen into a trap to separate Thor from the main army.

Chapter 6

The McCloud army charges Thor's group, who prepares to counter-attack. They fight through many of their enemies before Thor is cut on the shoulder. He leaps off of his horse to save his companion Reese from an attack, then Estopheles arrives and claws and the enemies eyes. Thor is trampled by a horse and beaten by more than a half-dozen enemies.
