Chapter 4 Summary

Vincent wakes up to the sound of workers installing the security system. Vincent finds Jackie on the phone in his office. She is on the phone with is production assistant, Lily, trying to get a list of names of all the people who have worked for him. Jackie explains to Vincent that the saboteur is someone who has been able to get close to the staff, either by mind manipulation or actually taking on a job. Jackie shows Vincent some letters that she found in his three-month-old pile of unopened mail. These letters are short one sentence letters that make references to the accidents that have happened on the sets of his productions and were sent the day after each incident. As Jackie is putting the rest of the mail away, Vincent begins to have lustful thoughts about her and gets hungry. He...
