Summary

In Chapter 28, Pauline told Lacoste that she had ended her third pregnancy using an abortion pill. She had mentioned the pill to Tracey even though she argued there was nothing illegal about what she had done. She claimed Tracey had told her Vivienne was pregnant with another man’s baby. When Lacoste indicated the pill had not worked because Vivienne was still pregnant, Pauline said that Tracey had gotten the pills last summer. Lacoste realized that Tracey must have used the pills to end a previous pregnancy. She wondered if Vivienne had suspected what he had done. Pauline also claimed the incriminating posts to Tracey were not about Vivienne, but about some new pieces of pottery on which Tracey was working.
