Chapters 10-15 Summary

In Chapter 10, the unnamed narrator describes Missy's funeral and how he stood in the back, needing to see Jonah and Miles during their time of grief.

In Chapter 11, Miles picks up Sarah and takes her to a local restaurant where they begin to get to know one another. Afterward, they go to a local bar where they play pool. Sarah hustles Miles, but he takes it with good humor. Their good time ends, however, when Otis Timson comes over and starts hassling them. Sarah gets Miles out of the bar before a fight can start. As they walk toward the river, Miles tells Sarah about Missy.

In Chapter 12, Sarah attends Jonah's soccer game the next day. When Jonah makes plans to spend the night at a friend's house, Miles accepts an invitation to have dinner with Sarah. Miles...
