Summary

In a long monologue, Darius recounts an art buying trip in the Doi Lang Mountains between Thailand and Myanmar, or Burma. He's essentially in the middle of a war zone, with soldiers and mercenaries everywhere armed with huge rifles and grenades. This is the kind of off-the-beaten-path region where if you go missing no one will notice or ever find you again. An acquaintance of an acquaintance told him about some men with an amazing stash of art, so Darius sets out to an even more remote location in the middle of the night to meet them. His driver and guide races through the mountain passes with such speed and reckless driving Darius isn't even sure he'll make it to the meeting alive, but when he does, he's amazed at the goods the men bring along: museum-quality pieces from some of Thailand's most important temples...
