Karen finds a scalpel in her bathroom while trying to find a way to keep Hickey from raping her. Karen holds the scalpel against Hickey and forces him to call Abby. During a struggle, Karen accidentally slashes open Hickey's thigh.

All three of the kidnappers have cell phones in order to keep in touch with one another at all times. Abby manages to get Huey's cell phone to call her mother, alerting her parents to its use. Will contacts the owner of the cell phone company and has him track the signal to help find Abby.
