Summary

In Chapter 27, on the Sunday before Kennedy would be assassinated, Sadie warned Jake not to try to go through with his plans to keep Kennedy alive on his own because he was too weak. He promised he would not even though he knew he would probably break that promise. After Sadie left Jake at the rehabilitation center to return to Jodie, Jake sat down with his key ring trying to remember the bank where he might have opened a safe deposit box. As he was delving into his memory he remembered a portion of the name of the assassin, Oswald Rabbit.

On Monday, Jake did not swallow the pain pills offered to him by his therapy nurse. After lunch with Dr. Ellerton, Jake got his car keys and went to visit his safe deposit box. When he looked at the blue notebook...
