IDEAS FOR GROUP DISCUSSION The Killing Game is one of a spate of novels about serial killers that have appeared over the past few years. Like most of its fellows, this novel considers the problems of abnormal psychology, good versus evil, and social concerns like abused children, and it is also part of a wave of thrillers written by women that show stylistic and thematic differences from thrillers written by men. Though Johansen has concentrated her efforts in romance novels heretofore, her mystery/thriller novels promise a diversification of fiction written by women.
