The Dreadful Future of Blossom Culp is the third of four novels featuring Blossom Culp and Bluff City at the beginning of this century. The opening book of the series, The Ghost Belonged to Me, is narrated by Alex Armsworth and involves a ghost of a drowned girl who appears to Alex in his family's barn requesting burial among her own people in New Orleans. Alex, Blossom, and Alex's eighty-five-year-old Uncle Miles travel to New Orleans by train to bury the girl's skeletal remains.
