Bone Dance (1997) tells the story of two Manitoba teens struggling with grief and loss, and trying to come to terms with the passage from youth to adulthood. Both seventeen years old, Alexandra Sinclair and Lonny LaFreniere meet when Alex comes to inspect the land she has inherited from a father she never knew. Lonny, possessed of a guilty secret, fears the land and fears the spirit visions he has had since his mother's death. He holds himself aloof from intimacy. Alex is on her own quest; she needs to know what this land and this place can tell her about her father. Both Lonny and Alex need to resolve their mixed feelings before they can know themselves and move on with their lives.
