Steve Bonta

In the following viewpoint Steve Bonta maintains that the United States should not allow the United Nations to lead the fight against terrorism. He argues that although the UN presents itself as being able to establish a broad coalition of states that is better suited than a single nation to quell global terror, its true goals are far different. In Bonta’s opinion, the organization is more interested in using the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the subsequent war in Afghanistan (where the hijackers were purportedly trained) to destroy American sovereignty and trick Americans into surrendering their constitutional freedoms to unaccountable international agencies. Bonta is a contributing editor to the New American magazine.
