Many People Have Witnessed the Chupacabras and Its Work

In the fall of 1995 in Canóvanas, Puerto Rico, more than one hundred animals-goats, chickens, dogs, and others- met mysterious, violent deaths. Many of the animals appeared to have died of a single puncture wound to the neck, and many were said to have had all their blood drained from their bodies. The evidence pointed to an unknown animal as the culprit.

These were not the first such deaths, and they wouldn't be the last. From time to time eyewitnesses caught glimpses of the killer-said to be a smallish creature with strong, kangaroo—like back legs, small front legs, and large, glowing red eyes. Witnesses reported that the creature had strange, scaly fur that appeared to change color in different light or when seen against different backgrounds. The creature also appeared to have a ridge of spines along its back. Soon, the creature came to be called el chupacabras,.....
