The use of animals in medical research is, in part, a moral concern. Representatives of the major religions of the world have issued statements regarding the morality of sacrificing animals for human welfare. All agree that human life is more valuable than animal life, and therefore condone animal experimentation for human benefit. Scientists concerned about the morality of their experiments and animal activists who would decry such research on moral grounds should recognize that the world's major religions all believe animal experimentation to be morally acceptable.
