Richard Branson

1950-

British entrepreneur and adventurer who with Per Lindstrand made the first transatlantic (1987) and transpacific (1991) hot-air balloon flights.

Perhaps best known for his position as the founder and chairman of The Virgin Group of companies (founded in 1970), which include interests from music to an international airline, Branson is also well-known for his worldwide adventures breaking land, water, and air speed and distance records.
