Published in Woman's Home Companion, June 1943.

"You American women are doing no less than men in bringing the dream of victory closer to reality."

In preparation for an article praising the war contributions of America's women on the home front, the editors of Woman's Home Companion sent out a questionnaire to their Reader-Reporters in early 1943. Reader-Reporters were readers who volunteered to relay home front wartime activities that were occurring in their communities and share their own thoughts as the war progressed. Roughly one-third of them had immediate family members in the military. Likewise one-third had family members working in the war industries. Half of the Reader-Reporters volunteered for activities directly related to the war effort. These Reader-Reporters were representative of the female population nationwide.
