Gregory of Rimini
d. 1358
Italian scholar and logician. Gregory worked as a professor at the Sorbonne, where he achieved acclaim as a professor and earned a number of distinguished titles from his students, including Doctor acutus, Lucerna splendens, and Doctor authenticus. A leading nominalist, Gregory was, along with William of Ockham (c. 1290-1349), a prominent figure in the debate over universals.
