Moore's Law was a prediction made by Gordon Moore of Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation in 1965, and it has held remarkably true into the 2000s. In fact, rival companies, knowing Moore's Law, each set out to exceed it, making Moore's Law a self-fulfilling prophecy.
