George Kastriotis or Gjergj Kastrioti, (ca. 1405 - 1468-01-17), better known as Skanderbeg (Albanian: Skënderbeu; Turkish: İskender Bey, "Lord Alexander"), is one of the most prominent figures in the history of Albania. Known as the Dragon of Albania, he is a national hero remembered for his struggle against the Ottoman Empire.
