In my opinion, a treaty left unsigned by the Cherokee Chief (John Ross) was never legally valid. The discovery of gold brought people to Georgia from all walks of life, and like every other gold rush in history, gold was the only thing that mattered. Displacement of the Cherokee people, as well as the removal bill that was enacted shortly after, led to the Trail of Tears..... something that can never be considered either honest or fair. Of course, this is my opinion.
