difference between progressive and populist reformer

A populist reformer conforms to identity politics. They are often charismatic or dominant figures who present themselves as the "voice of the people". At the same time, they seek to capitalize on disenfranchising other groups to solidify power. Progressive politicians tend to do the opposite.
