It is easy to dislike a scientist, who is so obsessed with finding cures that he contaminates his own daughter From the start, we know that Rappaccini is cold, cruel, unhappy, and without love. Baglioni tries to warn Giovanni that he might be a genius but cared nothing for humanity, and although Giovanni believes his friend..... he is too taken with Rappaccini's daughter to stay away.
