Winston Wright is the director of the Museum of Natural History. Wright was once a scientist but is now more of a politician, more worried about how he will be remembered in museum history than anything else. Wright pushes the opening of the Superstition Exhibition because he believes it will bring infamy and money to the museum. Wright does not believe Pendergast when he tells him that people will be in danger if the opening of the exhibit goes as scheduled. In the end, Wright realizes Pendergast was right. Wright gets drunk while he waits for the creature to come get him. Wright dies with Rickman in the storeroom behind his old office.
