Scipio Africanus was the only commander to give the ghosts of Cannae a chance for redemption. He led his men into Africa, where they revenged themselves on those that banished them. Scipio is described an impressive leader, who went onto become the supreme Roman commander when he was 25. Scipio consulted with Jupiter and acted on what he considered to be divinely inspired dreams. He was a shrewd commander, who could be both brutal and diplomatic.
