Mr. Keptor is Anne's math teacher. He assigns her some essays because she likes to talk too much in class. Her essays are witty and well written and eventually she wins him over. One of the essays was about a mother duck and her ducklings and how the mother duck overcame and stood up to the big swan that was in the pond picking on the others.
