How is Mercutio Romeo's foil?

Please don't mention him convincing Romeo to go to the party or his death.

Mercutio serves as Romeo's foil in a few different ways. Mercutio, unlike Romeo, sees love as a physical pursuit.... no emotion involved. Mercutio also makes fun of dreams.... to him dreams are nothing but the effects of life, influenced by anxiety, stress, or desire, whereas, Romeo sees his dreams as things that are meant to be.
