Who are Mary and Bill from Z for Zachariah?

Mary is Edward's wife, and Bill is his son. When the nuclear bomb is dropped, Edward wants to use the radiation repellent suit to go out and search for Mary and Bill, but Loomis will not allow it. In the end, Loomis kills Edward for the suit.
