Shakespeare was never meant to be read.....but to be heard. When read correctly outloud, students can understand what is going on. Another important thing to do in order to make Shakespeare accessible to students is to go over the characters before starting the play, as well as a general overview of the storyline. Additionally, most of Shakespeare's plays have now been made into film adaptations and can be played in part or fully as a supplemental source to deepen understanding of the text.
