Who is P from Who Wrote the Bible? and what is their importance?

P is believed to be one of the authors of the Pentateuch and is distinguished primarily from the others in several ways, among them an emphasis on law, the centralization of religion, a positive emphasis on Aaron and a subtly negative portrayal of Moses. Leviticus is an example of P literature.
