Sir James Frazer was a nineteenth/twentieth century anthropologist, who is best known for his monumental twelve volume The Golden Bough. Frazer's work is a favorite source for Merlin Stone in talking about myths, rituals, and how early Christianity might be influenced by Goddess worship.
